In many application, the dissolved ozone concentration in water has to be controlled in a certain range, for example, Spring water requires tight control of the concentration of ozone to ensure a consistent balance between sanitation and bromate formation.
Normally, there are two ways to control the dissolved ozone concentration in water: dissolved ozone measurement sensor+ controller, redox probe + controller. Dissolved ozone measurement sensor is much more expensive, but it is more accurate, which is suggested to be used in the accurate control.
How to Control the dissolved ozone concentration in a certain range
Normally, there are two ways: regulate the ozone generator outlet concentration by the 4-20mA feedback signal or 0-5V feedback signal from the measuring device controller; Shut down/ start up the ozone generator by the relay of the measuring device.
We use the first way: regulate the ozone generator outlet concentration by the 4-20mA feedback signal. The benefit of this way can avoid the frequent shut down and start up the ozone generator which is not good the service life of the ozone generator; another benefit is that it is more accurate.
Below is the details of our control system.
The probe of the measuring device will be installed at the measuring point, and the controller of the measuring device will send a 4-20mA signal to the ozone generator according to the dissolved ozone concentration. Then ozone generator will regulate its output according to the algorithm, ensuring correct concentration of ozone from its outlet. And dissolved ozone concentration will be consistent by this close-loop control.
